There are two schools of thought on Band-Aids. One is that they should be ripped off, quickly and without hesitation. Grit your teeth and let 'er rip! The other is that they should be gently removed so as to lesson the pain. Take your time and hope for the best.

I tend to be a rip it off quickly kind of person. That has served me well at times and perhaps not as well on other occasions. I decided to try the second approach recently, and it did not serve me well, either. This has led me to discover that ripping off a Band-Aid sucks no matter how you do it.

Look at me, learning new things after 50.

I ripped off the rest of that metaphorical Band-Aid today. It was time. I'm not going to lie, it really fucking hurts.

You may be wondering what the hell this obtuse blog post is referencing. I am not going to tell you. I don't like showing cuts, blisters, bruises, and the like on the internet, even if they're virtual and not actual.

It's not easy being a grown-up sometimes. This is one of those times. However, I am a kick ass warrior woman and I've got this.

Onwards and upwards.
